World Dance would like to apologies for the problems
experienced at Destination Docklands that may have
affected your evenings entertainment. The main
problem experienced was that the sound was too low
because at around midnight, a member of the
production crew opened one of the rear doors as a
shortcut to the car park. In doing this, they might
just as well have removed all the sound proofing
World Dance had spent three days putting up, as it
immediately led to the majority of the East End of
London being rudely woken up.
A barrage of complaints soon followed and the
Environmental Health Officer present, ordered volume
levels to be reduced to correct the situation;
failure to comply would have resulted in the
immediate shutdown of the event!
World Dance will
not be staging anymore events at this venue. For
their next event World Dance will be pulling out all
the stops on July 5th and by popular demand they
return to Lydd International Airport, the home of
World Dance, my home as a raver. This show will be
their last ever visit to Lydd so if you’ve never
experienced one of the World Dance Lydd shows then
this is your last chance.
This is a sad occasion for myself and for many
others who used to rave there. The final chapter is
about to be read and if you’re not there to
experience then to be quite honest you don’t know
what you’re missing out on… this is once in a blue
moon. As ever the show will feature all the special
effects that we have come to expect at Lydd plus a
few little extra surprises to see this venue out in
style. Chris continued; “The Final Approach will be
the last event to be staged at this classic rave
venue. For those of you remember some of the finest
events to take place during the history of the Rave
scene. The first truly indoor beach party in the
Summer of ’94, the stunning (you’re not kidding!),
fireworks parties on and around November 5th and the
much talked about Dr Devious show and of course the
rain at last years Summer dance festival. So if you
have never experienced one of our shows, then here
is your last chance before another chapter in rave
history comes to an end”.
Tickets are priced at £19.00 for members direct from
World Dance and £24.00 for non-members. For those
that haven’t been it’s a pity because this is your
only chance, for those that have come and join in
the celebrations one last time.
